50 miler

Congratulations

A challenging 50 mile route was planned from Genoa City to East Troy Wisconsin and back. We were on the road by 8 am, and finished 7 hours later, satisfying the merit badge requirement.

Mostly sunny weather, with a bit of a wind, made for a great ride.

Turn in your journals to receive your blue card.

Thanks to Mr. Mueller, and Mr. Goodwin for making this happen.

Also a big thanks to Mr. Ziegler who helped so much with all the other rides for the merit badge.

Pictures will be posted as soon as possible.

Spaghetti -- Spaghetti -- Spaghetti

Spaghetti Dinner tonight. Fifty miler tomorrow.

Be sure to bring your journals with all 6 rides logged. Bring your bikes so we can do a final inspection.

You will plan the fifty miler following the guidelines in your merit badge books, and then we'll enjoy Mrs. LeFave's famous cycling merit badge fifty miler spaghetti!

All past cyclists are invited as well as family members. Try to arrive about 6:00, dinner at 7:00.

No ride April 25!!

Just a reminder, there will be no ride this weekend. The next ride is May 2.

This is an excellent opportunity to make up any missing rides. You should have 4 rides completed toward the merit badge at this point.

It's a great weekend for a ride on the Prairie Trail which extends from Richmond all the way to Aurora. Prairie Path and Prairie Trail

Don't let that bike get rusty. Get out as often as possible and ride it. A little lubrication now and then doesn't hurt either.

Starved Rock !!

Troop 85 was back at Starved Rock this year. Our Cycling Scouts finished 43 miles on a fantastic day for cycling!

The ride included a stop at the William Boyd, Scouting Memorial.

Although I originally planned a relatively short ride, we experienced a bit of route inflation. Every one made the ride, though some scouts were looking a little tired at the end.

Great Job!!!
